Extra stuff is tossed into the Leftovers
Your Tweet with Bernie on The Senate Floor
I am sure you have all heard of Bernie Sanders speaking on the Senate floor with a tweet of President-Elect Trump as a prop. Time has an article about how quickly it became an Internet copy-cat game. Thanks to bernie.gomix.me anyone can get there tweet in the copy cat game. (Kudos to Boing! Boing! and Anil Dash for the original find.)
I Rank this One 5 Dunce Caps
It was a toss up as to whether to put this under “Yours” or here.

Hacking is so common now that it is barely news. However, just because it is not the new thing, we should still be concerned. haveibeenpawned.com is a site worth bookmarking and visiting from time to time. Put in your username and/or email and see if you are at risk.
DIY Polarizing Filter
I know it is still early but the best artist I have heard this year is Pseudonym. Check out my review at indienation.fm.
Also reviewed this week, from Israel, Full Trunk.
Astronomy on Pinterest
Somebody mentioned that they like the astronomy photos I share. With that in mind, I created a board on Pinterest. There are only two photos in it from this week but follow it for more if you with. Also, I have mentioned it before, subscribe to the NASA APOD which is short for astronomy picture of the day.
I thought I would share a photo of my new toy.
In the near future, I am going to publish an editorial about why so many are fooled by fake news in this post-truth era. Both of these tweeps show how, in many ways, there now is a phenonmenon that works much like The Minestry of Truth. Rewrite the new often enough and the masses believe it.
Tweet One – The N Word from CEO of Yahoo Finance
I dare not post the images unedited. First, I noticed the tweet in the story below, I scrolled back through Tweetdeck lists to see what the stink was and @thetomzone cleared up the mystery.
What is She Tweeting About?
I don’t even recall which of my many lists I saw this on but @KAlexisWrite had me wondering why the reference to @YahooFinance?
This is what happens when our news source have morphed into The Minestry of Truth.
Whether you like the idea of self-driving cars, trucks and more, it seems that it is a certainty in our future. According to an article at Robohub We may see robotic ships as early as 2035. The article also mentions that it should not cause a loss of jobs because maritime jobs are expected to drop and, more importantly, 70% of ship accidents are attributed to human error.
This Year in Science
These are just ones I recalled off the top of my head.
- The Discovery of Gravity Waves
- Antihydrogen light spectrum observed
- Planet Nine is likely to be discovered soon
- Great news for far-in-the-future space travel water on Ceres means that less is needed to be carried and we can exploit the planetoid for both life sustanace and fuel
Using HoloLens technology, Case Western Reserve University is going to start teaching medical students anatomy virtually.
