Tiny Tim Doing Strange Videos

Strange Video – Tiny Tim Covers Do Ya Think I’m Sexy

Another good reason to watch re-runs of The Tonight Show

There are certain things that should not be done. Then there are certain that are note worthy because they should not have been done and were anyways. This video certainly should fall under the later category.

Amazing Mail Deliveries

Amazing Deliveries

Putting Special Emphasis on the Word “Service” for Postal Service

While listening to an episode of  WaitWait… Don’t Tell Me!, I heard an interesting story about a letter delivery. When dug deeper on the web, I found several similar occurrences. Read on for three amazing deliveries.  I wish the USPS were as dedicated as some the postmasters mentioned below.

Scott, from Scotland

Kudos to the NZ Post for successfully delivering a letter addressed as follows:

Scott, from Scotland … aged about 60/70?? … corner of Tiniroto Road (almost). By a bridge. Has a Japanese wife — who may be older but looks about 20 … also has a daughter, about 3. Loves history … Good sense of humour … tells a good tale … Rural delivery area, sort of south east of Gisborne.

Sound more like a clue in an adventure game than an address. Continue reading “Amazing Mail Deliveries”

Stoned Drug Runners Turn Themselves In

Stoned Driver and Passenger Turn Themselves In

They say pot can make one paranoid. The audio below is certainly an example of that. Listen to these stoned drives, convinced they are being followed, turn themselves in… along with 20 pounds of marijuana.

It seems that the stoned criminals thought they were being followed and decided to call 911 to put an end to the cat and mouse game.  I can’t tell from the recording if they were actually being followed but found some humor in their above and beyond cooperation with the dispatcher.

A Brick in a Washing Machine on a Trampoline

A Brick in a Washing Machine on a Trampoline

I know you are likely wondering why one would place a brick in a washing machine on a trampoline. We don’t always need a valid and/or logical reason to do things. “Just because”, “why not?” or “because I can” often work as valid non-logical reasons.

Not needing a logical reason is why share videos of 10,000 sparklers lit at once and insanely huge fireworks displays. How could I resist a brick in a washing machine bouncing on a trampoline?

Kudos to Boing! Boing! for the original post!

Also, if you like brick in washer videos, Boing! Boing! has an entire page of just such videos.

Things NOT to Re-Gift – Engagement Rings

Re-Gift Idea Fails – The Engagement Ring

To be filed under “Can’t make this stuff up”

There are two things about this story that hit me immediately. The first is obvious, “could he be that stupid?”. However, I did know an individual who actually did re-gift an engagement ring.  Seems this type of stupid runs more common than one would first think. I get the stupid part, there is just one detail I am curious about. Continue reading “Things NOT to Re-Gift – Engagement Rings”

2016.01.03-LumpysLinks.html

Here they are:

  • Ludicrous – How about a software glitch releasing inmates early? Okay, so it does happen. What if it was happening since 2002?
  • Useful – Last year lifehacker put up a list of MacGyver tips. In my opinion, the best of the bunch is Tokyo Disaster Preparedness Guide
  • Music
  • PhotoGeminid Meteors over Xinglong Observatory
  • Yours (Something from the web’s social networks)- I got this list of translation errors years ago, but it was well worth a repost.
  • Science – We have all seen images of the solar system. However, it is unlikely that you have ever seen one to scale. On Christmas Day, the Astronomy Photo of the Day (APOD) put up a a video of some folks creating a scale model in the desert. I shared the video after the break. You even get to hear from some of the Apollo astronauts at the end.
