Terminal Madness

Terminal Madness

I grew up in the early era of computers. I remember cassettes and punch cards. My first computer was a Vic 20 with a cassette player hooked up to it. I didn’t stick with the 20 for long. I quickly updated to the Commodore 64 with a floppy drive. Yeah, I was one of those geeks who automated his coffee maker.

Check out this 1980 documentary about the computers. Kudos to Boing! Boing! for sharing this.

Carol Burnett Star Trek Parody

Carol Burnett Show – Star Trek Parody

I have always considered The Carol Brunnett Show classic television. In my youth, I watched it every time I could. I always liked her rags to riches persona.  Like many aspiring actresses, she held many odd jobs until her big break. Her trademark character became the cleaning lady she often played on her Carol Burnett Show. The intro of the show featured a comic of her in that role. Currently, her career has spanned six decades.

Fantastic Beasts of the TSA

Fantastic Beasts of the TSA

This skit on The Late Late Show with James Corden, “‘Fantastic Beasts’ of the TSA w/ Eddie Redmayne” is a brilliant way to promote the now-released movie. It is the story of Newt Scamander, his character in the new Harry Potter film, dealing with TSA airport security.

When Traveling with Fantastic Beasts

Kudos to The Verge for the original find.

Also check out James Corden taking over a Starbucks after the break.

An Open Culture article brought my attention to this video. The 25-minute interview originally took place in 1971. I know a good number of people who are into the martial arts. I thought they might like it if I gave this shout out.

If you are interested in more Bruce Lee, his audition for The Green Hornet, for example, there are links in the article at Open Culture. The video is after the break.

This work has fortunately fallen into public domain.

Big Bang Theory Lawsuit

Big Bang Theory Lawsuit

Heirs Scratch and Claw Over Soft Kitty

I just got done with a post about a stupid lawsuit and I immediately happened on another. The heirs of the author of Soft Kitty, often uses in the TV show Big Bang Theory, are trying to get their paws on some of the show’s cash. (Yes, Sheldon that is sarcasm) Just in case, you don’t know about the song or the show.

Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty

Personally, I love The Big Bang Theory. Sheldon Cooper is an iconic character, the show is well written and I watch it regularly. I don’t like seeing Big Bang Theory lawsuit when I search Google. I for hope they don’t get scratched too badly on this one.  (Yes Sheldon that was satire.) Continue reading “Big Bang Theory Lawsuit”

I found this on in my io9 feed.  I think she did a wonderful job and is very punny.
