Welcome to the new year and my first issue of my links for 2017.
Due to my most recent change of schedule, I am going to start publishing this on Sundays and not Fridays. It shall be that way at least till February. Then we shall have to see what schedule I have from there. This is being done so I actually have the time to put out better quality material.
The categories are (click on the category to jump right to it):
Ludicrous – Funny, odd, strange, bizarre or humorous
Unless you consider “any publicity is good publicity” as a strategy, who would want to be part of Nickelback? There are certainly bands that are much worse. Heck, The Monkees and Spinal Tap were fictitious bands that ended up touring. I am indifferent regarding their music. I like some of it but how does a band go platinum and remain so hated? It makes no sense but it is en vogue to hate them.
A few days ago, I got on my soapbox about the edible laws in Texas. Actually, I let a few musically talented attorneys do most of the talking. I thought I would share some more of their wisdom today… trust me, just shut up and listen.
Thanks for listeing. If you enjoyed the video, you may wish to subscribe to the singing lawyers on YouTube.
George Hotz, aka Geohot, Does Cars, Play Stations, iPhone and Rhymes
I knew a good bit about the famous hacker, geohot. He has a major league talent as a hacker. He would be what we call a “l33t”. For my older readers, unfamiliar with l33tsp34k, that is hacker-geek for “elite”. This 26-year old’s most recent accomplishment is, according to Bloomberg and other sources, an autonomous car!
In the past, he has also:
been credited for the first to hack the iPhone, way back when he was still in high school
hack the Play Station and get sued by Sony
and much more
What I didn’t know, until I heard mention of it on a podcast, he also spits rhyhms.
